I'm Michael Eisenwasser, the founder of Books Backup.
I've spent more than 15 years building software companies. I co-founded EasyOutsource, a job marketplace acquired in 2014, and BuddyBoss, a community and app platform that grew to more than 30,000 customers before it was acquired in 2024.
Books Backup exists because I ran into this problem myself.
After selling and winding down companies, I still had years of accounting records sitting in QuickBooks Online. The businesses were done, but the financial records needed to be kept for years. The records had to outlive the software.
I didn't want to keep paying for QuickBooks subscriptions indefinitely just to preserve old data. And simply downloading a few reports wasn't enough. Important records like attachments and audit history could still be left behind.
So I built the archive I wanted for my own companies, then turned it into a service anyone can use.
Books Backup creates a complete, organized archive of your QuickBooks Online company so you can cancel the subscription while keeping the records you may need later.
